As ten Attorney Generals from around the country are filing with the California Supreme Court to beg the court to stay their recent marriage equality ruling, Indiana is gearing up for the Republican nomination battle for this year's general election. Two candidates, Valparaiso Mayor Jon Costas and Deputy Attorney General Greg Zoeller, are vying for the nomination at Monday's convention.
Of course neither are especially moderate. They are both pandering to the lowest common denominator - the rightwing fundies - to carry them to victory. Josh Gillespie of Hoosier Access brings word that the American Family Institute of Indiana PAC has endorsed Zoeller. I wonder why.

So do you think he'd be filing with California if our state is his playground? Yeah. Me too.

Now Bill, you know that we disagree on this subject, but here goes. Why should the citizens not have the right to vote on this issue? Do you want the judges to set the law from now on? That could be very dangest on both sides. I say put this on the ballet, just like California has done this week. Those who are against this vote can go out and work to get it defeated. Those who would like to see this pass has the same right to see to it that it gets the yes votes.
