Apparently I was a week or so early. The Obama campaign sent out an e-mail to supporters this weekend announcing that Obama would make his VP pick soon.
While my prediction about Bayh being tapped to be the Veep last Wednesday was a little premature, Jim Shella is reporting that the Obama vetters are hard at work here in Indianapolis.
A source reports that people from "Washington" arrived at the building that houses the state archives this week. Its on east 30th Street. They are culling through documents left behind when Evan Bayh was governor.
This is real.
So whattaya think? Am I correct on my Bayh prediction? If not, who's your choice to get the nod?

I think you are right on with Bayh. You were just early... ;)

Bayh is a very safe pick and would give Indiana Dems a big boost. But I think General Wes Clark is a great choice too, and considering the night the VP accepts the nomination is "Veterans Night," it would be tough to see Bayh (who has never served) standing at the podium.
My guesses are (in order):
1) Wes Clark
2) Jack Reed (ugh)
3) Chuck Hagel (double ugh)
