While Republicans nationally aren't known for their diversity, most of the local party members I've had the pleasure of meeting don't appear to be racist. At the very least, they don't say something racist in public.
Republican bloggers, however, don't seem to have that conjunction. While one Indianapolis blogger's racism is commonly discussed and condemned, Hoosier Access blogger Michael Jezierski's stereotype-laden description of Obama supporters as "thuggz" has now risen to the challenge.
At a recent rally in Nevada, Obama urged supporters to hit the streets and talk about the campaign. "I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face," he said.
Jezierski manages to turn the exhortation to volunteer for the campaign into a racist degradation meant to portray Obama as a knife-wielding ghetto gangster.
And the bit about getting into people's faces - that's right in line with the mindset of the baggy pants wearing crowd. Get into their face, maybe wave a shank or shiv, flash some signs.
You'll see change in January if the Presidential limo starts sporting spinner wheels, fuzzy dice, and a BOOMING subwoofer mounted in the trunk blasting Ludacris. That change, is what will be left in your pocket after the Government gets done shaking you down for every last dollar you have.
Several of the comments on the post take umbrage at the blogger's writing with one directly asking:
How is calling Obama's supporters "thuggz" not racist?
A fellow Hoosier Access blogger defends the post, sadly. He writes:
...in this hyper-sensitive PC world in which the United State has turned into, you can make anything you want sound racist especially since many things are now cross-cultural.
While it's completely understandable that passions will flare surrounding a presidential eleciton, Jezierski's racist rant serves no purpose but to attempt to use Obama's skin color against him. Jezierski should apologize to his readers and remove the post.
You don't have to "make" that sound racist. It is.

While I won't claim what Mike wrote was right it's no more offensive than what liberal bloggers have written about Governor Sarah Palin.
When they apologize for claiming Trig Palin was her grandson, insinuating that orgies went on at her house, stop hacking into email accounts to dig for dirt and spreading rumors that just aren't true and are misogynistic, when Sandra Bernhard apologizes for warning Palin "not to come into Manhattan lest she get gang-raped by some of Sandra’s big black brothers” (hello? Where’s the cry of racism there? Oh wait, she’s a fellow Democrat)" or for referring to Palin as “Uncle Women,” a “turncoat bitch” and a “whore" then we can talk apology for what you see as apparent racist imagery when no racial terms, names or phrases were used.
