I heard she was a college Republican. I remember those sorts from Whitman - they are the absolutely worst of the worst when it comes to the Republican Victim Complex.

For instance, one once got a bad grade on a paper, and was thoroughly convinced it was because he was a Republican. He never stopped talking about it. It was insane.

Then the LGBT group put out "safe space" posters for professors and students to put up on their doors to show support for LGBT people. The campus Republicans, of course, couldn't be outdone, and made "safe space" posters for people to put up on their doors. Because, you know, there are so many hate crimes against Republicans.

It went on and on and on. It was a small group of way too vocal students who'd make up anything to pretend to be victims. There was another case on another campus last year of a student who was attacked and he said it was a gay student. Turned out to be someone he knew who just thought he was a jerk.

The college Republicans are definitely the worst type of Republicans out there, especially since they've been pushing for a war all these years and refusing to go fight in it. This just seems like another example of that victim complex.

FWIW, local GOP nutterball blogger Gary Welsh himself was president (during the Reagan years) of his College Young Republicans at Eastern Illinois University...

Pitiful and disgusting. As they said on CNN, "There's egg on the face of anyone who actually ran this story."

Gary Welsh's little hate corner of the world was once less so. Now, he has been spurned by the Ballard Administration, made a fool of by his contemporaries, and is even joked about by every other blogger in town. It would seem that his only support comes from other right-wing nut jobs who support Palin politics and those who believe in their heart-of-hearts that Obama isn't a natural born American citizen. U S District Judge R. Barclay Surrick on Friday night rejected the suit by attorney Philip J. Berg that Berg lacked standing to bring the case, saying any harm from an allegedly ineligible candidate was "too vague and its effects too attenuated to confer standing on any and all voters." In other words, it was a frivolous lawsuit to begin with. When Barack Obama wins the election next Tuesday in a landslide, poor Gary may actually have to find something else to do rather than harp on whether Barack Obama is a citizen or continue making other personal attacks on Barack Obama. It will be great when Barack carries Indiana, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Colorado, New Mexico, Florida and Georgia by rather comfortable margins. With 60 Democratic Senators (not counting Lieberman, of course), the Senate and the House of Representatives and Barack Obama will share a mandate to change the course of history is a positive and beneficial way to the United States and for all people around the world. Sorry Gary, but the rising tide lifts all the boats.
