What a shame. A northern Indiana man was attacked after watching a football game with some other gay men.
A 54-year-old man who was found severely beaten Monday told police he was assaulted because he is gay.
Police said the man could provide few details of the attack because of the severity of his injuries, including broken bones, a smashed nasal cavity and deep cuts to his face.
We're one of the handful of states left in the nation without a hate crimes law. Legislators like Rep Jackie Walorski always hijack the legislation by adding poison pill amendments about abortion.
I hope she can sleep at night knowing that she encouraged his beating by advocating that a group of cells is more important than discouraging attacks on minority groups.

Bil, knowing South Bend and the mentality I am sure Jackie Walorski looses no sleep. Her blog is an advert for nearly no government and give me my gun.
The victim is understandably traumatized, but I wish that he would make certain to get the address to the police so that patrols can be stepped up. I would hope he would contact the host(s) of the "football game" to inform them of what happened so that they can be wary, form a neighbor's watch and try and identify those who assaulted him. This sounds like the exact kind of garbage that was happening in West Lafayette.
It would also be wonderful if someone would visit Ms Walorski's office and deliver a copy of the newspaper article and a well placed pint of butcher's cow blood as a statement of what her blind inaction has done.
Wouldn't it be fun to harass a state representative in their nice dumb back yard?
