I was in the stationary store "Papyrus" at Keystone at the Crossing the other day. I needed to buy a Bar Mitzvah card. Well, to the right side of the display case I saw wedding cards. I realized that one card had a picture of two tuxedos, and another had a picture of two wedding gowns. 3361035479_cfc0f006ac_m.jpgI actually did a double-take! I showed them to Allan and he was as surprised as I was. So when I bought my card, I thanked the salesgirl for carrying these cards. I asked her to tell the owner.

As more business establishments are becoming aware of the GLBT community, they are selling items that appeal to GLBT people and straight allies. I don't know if they carry these items because they really care about diversity, or whether they have realized that the GLBT community has buying-power. Whatever the reason, it doesn't really matter - the end result is the same.

We always need to remember to thank store owners when they step up to the plate. They need to be shown that we appreciate what they are doing. This will also encourage them to keep on doing it. I don't know if any of you shop at Keystone, but at least we now know of another GLBT-friendly enterprise in Indianapolis!!!!
