If you believe the blogosphere then Adam's loss was due to a combination of his sexual orientation and the influence of the Christian vote. Well, first of all Adam didn't lose, he placed 2nd which is phenomenal considering how many contestants he had to beat to get there. My personal opinion is it had more to do with the fact that Kris Allen simply received more votes by way of an extremely inefficient voting system.

I'm not much of an American Idol fan. I stopped watching after season 1 when Christina Christian dropped out due to personal reasons.

To me Christina was the 1st American Idol and I was certain there was a conspiracy involved in her departure. As it turned out there really wasn't a conspiracy at all. Christina confirmed her departure was due to physical exhaustion and today looks back at her departure as a blessing.

So for all you Idol fans disappointed in Adam's loss to Kris Allen fear not. Adam Lambert will go on and will have a very rewarding career. The focus on this whole affair really should be on the genuine mutual respect Adam and Kris have for each other.
