Enjoy the 4th of July holiday with your friends and loved ones. We'll be taking the weekend off here at Bilerico-Indiana, but we'll be back on Monday with more Hoosier queer news and views. But if you get bored cooking out with the annoying Uncle you haven't seen since 1982, remember what used to pass as Hoosier holiday entertainment about a hundred years ago...

This real photo postcard was taken on July 4, 1910, on Franklin Street in Valparaiso, Indiana. This was the first run of the interurban on the new line running from Valparaiso southward to Flint Lake. A celebration of the opening of the line was celebrated by hundreds of individuals at Flint Lake.
