The Center for Disease Control has released a new study that ranks states on how happy their residents are. Take a moment and think about how content you are with the state of life in Indiana.
45. Illinois
46. California
47. New Jersey
48. Indiana
49. Michigan
50. Connecticut
51. New York
Yeah, the majority of your neighbors and fellow Hoosiers feel the same.

Ha, saw that one. I totally believe it.

Since the Midwestern Capital for Unemployment is alleged to be Elkhart, Indiana, the results of this poll are not difficult to believe.
Also: I have noticed the mediocrity and downtrodden-ness of Hoosiers to be reflected recently in the national and global media. I doubt that it is a total fluke that Amy Pohler's NBC show Parks and Recreation takes place in the mythical town of Pawny, Indiana; or that ABC's The Middle shows life in a nondescript trailer park in another fictitious Hoosier town called Orsen. Even a guest appearance by Brooke Shields failed to make us look fashionable.
Speaking of Brooke ... is Indiana still allowed to claim The King of Pop as one of its favorite sons?
I mean, that has to count for something! ... uh ... doesn't it?
